Kwara govt shuts Post Office-Emir’s road for upgrade

The Kwara State Government has announced the immediate closure of Post Office-Emir’s Road, effective today, Tuesday.

According to a statement by Olajide Abolarin, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport, the closure is to facilitate road rehabilitation and upgrades under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaqā€™s ongoing urban renewal projects.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance road networks and stimulate economic growth across the state.

In the statement, the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Abdulquawiy Olododo, advised motorists to use alternative routes during the rehabilitation period.

He also reassured the public that the closure had been strategically planned to prioritize safety and ultimately improve travel conditions for residents.

ā€œMotorists coming from Maraba are advised to use the Post Office Flyover, while those from Offa Garage should take Zulu Gambari Road. Similarly, road users approaching Road are encouraged to use Wahab Folawiyo Unity Road to reach their destinations.

ā€œWe apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and seek the cooperation of the general public during this period. Motorists are advised to adhere to traffic directives and exercise caution while navigating the area.ā€
