The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has announced the successful hiring of 1,811 applicants from a pool of over 55,000 candidates.
Atere Abiola, Press Secretary, KWSUBEB in a statement yesterday said this follows a rigorous recruitment process aimed at improving education across the state.
The new hires include 1,500 teachers, primarily in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, as well as 311 non-teaching staff members, including drivers, security guards, and office assistants.
These individuals will be deployed across the 16 local government areas of the state to bolster the teaching and learning environment.
KWSUBEB Chairman, Sheu Raheem Adaramaja, confirmed that successful applicants have been contacted and are in the process of documentation.
The documentation schedule, which began on January 6, involves different regions of the state: candidates from Kwara North were the first to be processed, with those from Kwara South and Kwara Central following on January 7 and 8, respectively.

The documentation process requires applicants to present original and two photocopies of all credentials, two file jackets and tags, a citizenship certificate, two passport photographs, a bond signing, and a filled-out biodata form.
Adaramaja highlighted that the recruitment process was designed to focus on long-term assignments in local communities, particularly in rural areas, to address the critical need for qualified personnel in these underserved regions.
He emphasised the importance of sourcing competent and committed candidates who are willing to stay in their assigned locations.
