ā€œWe are proudly transforming the landscape of Ilorin,ā€ AbdulRazaq said, listing key infrastructure projects, including upgrades to roads such as Sulu-Gambari Road, Oja Oba, and Ibrahim Taiwo Road.

He noted that Ilorin now stands as a leading capital city in Nigeria due to the administration’s efforts to restore law and order while upgrading infrastructure.

AbdulRazaq also announced plans for the Ilorin Smart City project, stating that compensation for affected families and individuals is ongoing.

The project includes the construction of 250 mass housing units and road networks, set to commence in 2025.

Other initiatives include the revival of the Dada pottery industry, the renovation of Patigi Motel, and the establishment of the Kwara State University of Education in Ilorin.

The governor reassured attendees of his administrationā€™s commitment to further enhancing the stateā€™s socioeconomic and physical development.

IEDPU President AbdulMumin Ayo AbdulMalik lauded the administration’s urban renewal projects, describing them as transformative for Ilorin and Kwara State.

He also highlighted the ongoing construction of the Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari Skills Acquisition Hub and requested additional support from the government to equip the centre.

ā€œThe Union is delighted with the rate of ongoing developments in the state,ā€ Abdulmalik said, calling for expanded infrastructure to meet the demands of Ilorinā€™s growing population.

Oba, who chaired the event, commended the governorā€™s commitment to peace and development, urging more empowerment programmes for marginalized groups, particularly women.

Yahya Seriki, the chief launcher, donated ā‚¦100 million to support IEDPU projects, while dignitaries, including national and state parliamentarians, senior government officials, and Ilorin Emirate Chieftains, attended the event.
