The Kwara State Government has allocated an additional sum of one billion, thirty-one million, one hundred and forty-nine thousand, four hundred and fifty-one naira, and thirty-six kobo to address outstanding salary arrears owed by the previous administration to local government workers, basic school teachers, and pensioners.
Babatunde Abdulrasheed, the Press Secretary of the Kwara Ministry of Finance, revealed this information in a statement.
More so, the statement noted that in January, the government commenced full CONHESS payment for health workers at the local government level, accompanied by monthly palliative support of N10,000 per worker and pensioner.

āBetween January 2020 and January 2024, the government has spent at least N5.5bn to offset the arrears of salary and gratuities for SUBEB teachers, local government workers and local government pensioners alone ā apart from meeting its multibillion naira monthly obligations to these categories of workers and many others since it was elected in 2019.ā
