Inter Lagos comprehensively defeated state rivals Sporting Lagos 2-0, securing progression to a historic Lagos State FA Cup final.

Abubakar Taheer and Tony Obia scored stunning first half goals to seal the victory for Gabriel Ezema’s boys. The victory also means Inter Lagos have sealed an automatic spot in the national FA Cup.

The buildup to the game was intense as both teams are of the new generation of clubs springing up in the Nigeria football industry.

He was calm and collected on the ball while also being a weapon of destruction against the opposition defenders.

Meanwhile, Inter Lagos missed the services of young striker Doyin Omotosho who got injured in training. But that did not pose much problems for the finalists who possess enough firepower in their ranks.

Despite parading the likes of Jonathan Alukwu and Rivio Ayemwenre, Sporting Lagos failed to find the back of the net.

The introduction of former NPFL topscorer Junior Lokosa could not change things as Inter hung on for an important win.
