Sporting Lagos are playing in their first Nigeria Professional Football League campaign. Similarly, Inter Lagos are witnessing their maiden season in the Nigeria National League.
This is also the first time Inter Lagos are participating in the Lagos State FA Cup. It is interesting to see the club make it to the final in fascinating circumstances.
Ifeanyi Eneh was once again dependable in midfield. He held his head high as he controlled the middle of the park with aplomb.
Taheer and Uchenna Njoku caused the opposition all sorts of problems with their speed and trickiness. Obia, as usual, demonstrated why he has registered double figures in the NNL this season. Today’s goal is his third in the state FA Cup this season.
He was calm and collected on the ball while also being a weapon of destruction against the opposition defenders.
Meanwhile, Inter Lagos missed the services of young striker Doyin Omotosho who got injured in training. But that did not pose much problems for the finalists who possess enough firepower in their ranks.
Despite parading the likes of Jonathan Alukwu and Rivio Ayemwenre, Sporting Lagos failed to find the back of the net.
The introduction of former NPFL topscorer Junior Lokosa could not change things as Inter hung on for an important win.
