The Lagos State Government has expressed deep regret over the recent gas tanker explosion on Otedola Bridge, acknowledging the widespread damage and disruption caused by the incident.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the government extended its sympathies to those affected and commended emergency responders for their swift action in managing the situation.
“This incident reinforces the urgent need for stricter safety protocols for heavy-duty vehicles,” the statement read.
The Ministry of Transportation has vowed to intensify enforcement on the movement of hazardous materials, strengthen regulatory compliance, and implement enhanced safety measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
