The Lagos State Government (LASG) has called on the management of the International Trade Fair Complex to utilize the ongoing planning permit amnesty for existing buildings that lack approval.
The State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Oluyinka Olumide, gave the advice in Alausa, Ikeja.
He stressed that obtaining a Building Approval is “not negotiable for all structures within the confines of the state,”as mandated by the Lagos State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law 2019 (as amended).

Olumide urged the Trade Fair Complex management to emulate other Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), such as the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), which have already begun the regularization process under the current program.
The commissioner emphasized that keying into the amnesty would help building owners avoid subsequent enforcement actions.
Planning approval, he added, is crucial to achieving the State Government’s goal of a livable and sustainable city.
The current amnesty window, which is the third of its kind under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, runs from November 1 to December 31, 2025.
During this period, the usual penal fees will be waived.
