In football, you have to value humans. Don’t win by all means. You don’t have to be so desperate to win, it’s no more football (when you are). You told your player not to give fair play because you want to win.

“In football, we value humanity. We value life. It (the league) is a marathon. If you don’t don’t win in this place, you win in another place.”

“… He should not be happy” – Ogunmodede

Responding to Ilechukwu’s comments, Ogunmodede said he did not expect the Rangers gaffer to be happy.

“He’s a workaholic. He’s my friend. Puts a lot of energy into the game and he came (to Ikenne) and he lost. You want him to be happy? He should not be happy,” Ogunmodede said.

“I don’t expect him to be happy. If he’s happy, he’s not my friend anymore. That means he’s not dedicated to his job.

“Just like I was sad in Enugu the last time. I was extremely sad. This time he’s sad, it’s normal. Let him enjoy the sadness and then we come back as friends, it’s normal. Nothing takes away our friendship, believe me. He’s my friend and he will always be my friend.”

Remo Stars are top of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table with 12 maximum points, having won all four of their matches so far this term.

Meanwhile, Rangers occupy the 12th position with four points. The Flying Antelopes have recorded one win, one loss and a draw from their three outings this campaign.
