Messi led Argentina to World Cup glory last December, winning the tournament’s best player award. Albiceleste had beaten a stubborn French team, led by Kylian Mbappe to win the coveted title.
He was on target seven times, while assisting his teammates three times during last year’s World Cup.
The Barcelona legend scored 16 goals and created 16 others while with Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1.
