Liverpool star Luis Diaz’s parents were kidnapped from a gas station in Barracas, Colombia.
The 26-year-old Colombia international received the disturbing news on Saturday.
Diaz’s father Luis Manuel DĆaz and mother Cilenis Marulanda were kidnapped at gunpoint from a gas station in his native city of Barracas, Colombia.

It is known that authorities in the Caribbean town, which is located in the La Guajira region, had warned Luis Diaz’s parents to leave the rural area.
The authorities feared the kind of incident would happen.
According to Marca, the footballer’s mother has been retrieved by local authorities. This is thanks to one of the checkpoints set up by local police. However, Diaz’s father, at the time of writing, is still missing.
The situation is already being addressed as one of national importance. Colombia president Gustavo Petro broke the news about the rescue of his mother.
