Lookman helps Leicester City defeat Liverpool

Ademola Lookman

Ademola Lookman scores as Leicester City handed Liverpool another defeat in a match where they missed some good chances.

Sadio Mane was one of those who failed to convert Liverpools opportunities. Mohammed Salah also missed a penalty which was saved by Leicester goalkeeper – Kasper Schmeichel.

They were eventually made to pay by the hosts in the 59th minute. When former Everton and Fulham forward, Lookman scored with only his fourth touch after coming on as a substitute.

The English man of Nigerian origin, took Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s pass in his stride, beat Joel Matip and rifled a shot past Alisson – Leicester’s only shot on target.

Despite relentless late Liverpool pressure, Leicester City who were without several first-team players hung on.

The win is coming just six days after blowing a 3-1 lead to lose on penalties against the same opposition in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
