Liverpool winger Luis Díaz’s father will, reportedly be released by his captors ‘within hours’ with talks regarding his release ongoing.
Earlier on Thursday, the Colombian Government confirmed that the National Liberation Army (ELN) was responsible for the kidnap.
Recall that last Saturday, both Luis Manuel Diaz and wife Cilenis Marulanda were kidnapped in Barracas, Colombia.

Within hours of their capture, Marulanda was released but Luis Diaz’s father has remained with his captors ever since.
Meanwhile, Colombian newspaper El Tiempo reported that authorities have confirmed that the ELN promised to release Díaz’s father within the next few hours.
Members of the ELN group have reportedly claimed they were unaware members of the organisation had kidnapped Diaz’s parents.
Otty Patino, the Government representative in the talks with the ELN, confirmed they had been informed the group was responsible for the kidnapping.

In a statement Patino called for the release of Diaz’s father.
