It is no longer news that Manchester United have made their worst start of the season since 1936 after been mauled 4-0 by Brentford. Erik ten Hag has gotten his baptism in the Premier League.
It is also the first time since 1992-93 season that the Red Devils will lose their first two games of the season.
But this is coming at a time of a new manager, Hag, a successful coach with Ajax.

But the reality seemed to have dawn on the manager after admitting the need for new set of players during his post match interview.
It is high time that the club face reality that there is a ne for some fresh blood to release the ones whose minds are already elsewhere.
Cristiano Ronaldo never hide his intention to leave this summer, which Hag has denied on several occasions. If the manager continue to act as if nothing is going on with the hope that the good times will soon be back, it might be too late before the club shown him the door.
It was a pure case of bad performance from players that worth over 400m pounds to those that worth just 55m pounds. Brentford were simply ruthless and punished United for each mistake.
“We are, as a team, in a difficult process. You expect a different start. It’s not what we expected.
“We need new players. We need quality players and we are working on that and we’ll do everything to convince them to come,” he said.
Will Ten hag succeed at Manchester United?
After a successful pre-season without much attention on Ronaldo’s absence, many expected United to start flying.
But that became the opposite with their first test against Brighton. Brenford have now added to their problem with such a spanking.
The questions on the mind of many United will be if Hag can succeed here.
One can not question the quality of the manager, but he will need to prove doubters wrong at this point.
Many fans who wanted the Glaziers family out of the club might turn against him soon after ten games. They won’t want their darling club to be fighting against relegation before he axed.
How Hag can be successful at Manchester United
For Hag to save himself, he needs to copy the style of Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard gradually fade out some players in the team due to their level of commitment. Many had criticised the Spaniard last season for freezing out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang when Arsenal were not getting results.

It takes some level of boldness to bench your best player and the captain of the club, knowing the quality such player can offer.
But the former Man City assistant manager took the bull by the horn by integrating young guns like Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe, Eddie Nketiah by giving much game time and reposing confidence in them.
In such manner, Arsenal is gradually becoming a team has believe in itself.
The hard decision Hag needs to do is to bench Ronaldo and the likes who are not ready for the action. It takers players with full commitment to play for his club and get results.
This will be a hard decision to take, but it is better for the manager to have committed players who are ready to sweat it out from the blast of the whistle to the end that stars who are just there for formality.
It is time to clear the future of the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford as well. Making their future clear and letting them know how important they are in the team may be what is needed to return to winning ways.
It’s a good thing as a manager to accept your failure. But there is little time to correct their mistake with summer window set toc close August 31.
If there are no changes in the next five games, it could be a failed mission for Hag. But till then time will tell if there will be change in the camp of United.
