According to reports, the Red Devils will pay an initial fee of £80.75m, with a further £4.25m in add-ons.

The 22-year-old who has been left out of Ajax squad due to the speculations surrounding his future is due in Manchester for a medical within the next 48 hours.

Antony would become Manchester United’s joint-second most expensive signing. United had signed Paul Pogba for £89m from Juventus.

Antony scored 25 goals and provided 22 assists in 82 appearances for Ajax, having joined the Dutch side from Sao Paulo in 2020 and played under current United boss Erik ten Hag.

After making his international debut for Brazil in October 2021, the winger now has two goals in nine appearances.

Antony also contributed to seven goals in his 11 Champions League appearances for Ajax. He would also become the joint-fourth most expensive signing in Premier League history.

Top on the list of Premier League most expensive buys are Pogba’s return to United, Chelsea’s signing of Romelu Lukaku and Manchester City’s deal for Jack Grealish.

When will Anthony likely make United’s debut?

United travel to Leicester City in their next Premier League fixture on Thursday, 1 September. Antony would need to receive a work permit before making an appearance. So, he may not make his debut against the Foxes.

He will become United’s fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of his former Ajax team-mate, defender Lisandro Martinez, midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid, full-back Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord and playmaker Christian Eriksen on a free transfer.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave the club. Manchester United needs to convinced him with such signing.

Such a signing is a huge statement from United before the transfer window closes on Thursday. If the 27 year-old Ronald stay at the club following concerns about how his mood is affecting morale in the camp, things could turn out for good or bad.

Since Anthony is predominately left-footed who likes to cut in off the right flank, Ronaldo should be happy. With his exceptional pace and ability to create chances from nothing and a willingness to work hard, Ronaldo could benefit from it and bring out his A game as usual.
