Manchester United player Mason Greenwood has been charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling behaviour and assault, NRTC can confirm.
The England player was arrested in January after allegations were revealed in images and videos posted online.
The 21-year-old was arrested again on Saturday for allegedly breaching his bail.
Greenwood is now expected to stand trial at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The footballer has been called once by the senior England men’s team, Three Lions. He has not played or trained with Manchester United since the allegations emerged.

During the revelations about the attempted rape and assault, Nike also ended its sponsorship deal with Greenwood. In a similar move, Electronic Arts (EA) removed him from active squads on its Fifa 22 game.
Crown Prosecution Service
Representative of the Crown Prosecution Service North West, Janet Potter said they had permitted Greater Manchester Police to charge Greenwood with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Greenwood was said to have been involved in the attempted rape on 22 October 2021, while the alleged assault is said to have occurred last December.
Meanwhile, the controlling and coercive behaviour charge relates to a period of time since November 2018. Ms Potter stated that the charges were made after specialist rape prosecutors reviewed of a file of evidence from police.
She added: “The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against the defendant are active and that he has a right to a fair trial.
“It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice those proceedings.”
Who accused Greenwood?
Greenwood’s girlfriend Harriet Robson had accused the footballer of attempted rape and assault.
The player was an important part of the United team prior to his arrest. He has often been regarded as one of the next superstars of the club.
