The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the names of the top scorers in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State emerging as the highest scorer.
He recorded a total of 375 out of 400.
Chinedu picked the University of Lagos and intends to study Mechanical Engineering.
The second-best performance came from Ayuba Simon-Peter John of Gombe State, who scored 374.
He chose Afe Babalola University in Ado-Ekiti and also plans to study Mechanical Engineering.
Following closely was Abdulmalik Olayinka Jimoh from Kwara State, who scored 373.
He also selected the University of Lagos for the same course.
The names were shared by JAMB during its 2025 Policy Meeting in Abuja.
All three top candidates are male and have shown strong interest in engineering fields.
Other candidates who scored 373 include Roberts Ayibo Damiete from Rivers State and Ononugbo Chibueze from Enugu.
Damiete applied to study Electrical/Electronic Engineering at UNILAG, while Chibueze chose the University of Ibadan.
The only female among the top ten is Olawepo Tunmise Gertrude from Kwara, who scored 373.
She selected Computer Science at the University of Lagos.
Others on the list include Afenitan Leslie from Delta with 373, Azoyenime Samuel from Delta with 372, Oyebode Emmanuel from Ogun with 372, and Omigie Cecil from Edo with 372.
These candidates also chose courses such as Aerospace Engineering, Petroleum and Gas Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering across various universities including OAU, UNILAG, Covenant, and UI.
