The Met Gala and the AMVCA2025 happened same week. So, the red carpet moment from the Met Gala was still imprinted in my memory when I saw the men at the AMVCA2025 red carpet. With no bias, I can say some of the menswear was Met Gala worthy.
At the AMVCA2025, there were bespoke outfits, tailored perfectly for the wearer. Also, there was an exploration of fabrics, bold colours, and an unexpected monochromatic look. Let us check out looks that could pass for the Met Gala from the AMVCA2025.
Akin Faminu

This looks bagged Akin Faminu as the best dressed at the Awards’ Night, and indeed it is an award-winning look. It is a custom-made Dejio and Kola. It is a revolutionized black suit embedded with rose-patterned flowers on one hand.
Adeyemi Okanlawon

Am I the only one who has not seen this type of green monochromatic look before? Pardon me, I had to look through all the shades of green to name this. I think the closest name to call this shade of green is Olive green. Green is usually a bold colour choice, which most times contrasts with black skin tone, but this choice is great!
Yes, va video take a closer look at the outfit.
Another fashion note-worthy feature of this look is the distinct styling of jewelry. Though most of them were covered by the sleeves of the outfit but an accessory-conscious look is a buzzer. Deyemi calls the color of his dress boots, ‘pepper red’, which does not look so from the visuals. But combining olive green with the colour of the dress boots breaks the dress monotony and pops out the bespoke nature of the outfit.
Stan Nze

The fashion liaison between P.aries and Stan Nze has been nothing short of jaw-dropping, year in and out. He dressed Stan Nze in a monochromatic wine look. The designer broke the monotony in fabric by switching up the jacket’s fabric. The jacket was not left bare but embellished with black- themed embroidery on the lapels and the body of the jacket. This is a classic three-piece suit.

Why is this look on the list? Because of it is is dreamy effect all over the suit jacket. A cloud-like design was effected on the white canvas, that is the background fabric. One distinct feature of this look is the choice of innerwear. That caused a bit of good commotion for the outfit, breaking the monotony of tranquility.
Vine Olugu

I love this look because of the tweed jacket and its design. It broke the regular motif of having a suit jacket with lapels. This look is great, but it can look better. The fabric used for the innerwear and pants looked sloppy and did not give a fitted look. If the designer had explored using another fabric, the look might have come out perfectly tailored for Vine. However, this look is a ‘switch-it-up-baby look’.
Tobe

A standing ovation for the jacket! Such softness accompanied by a bit of sparkle. A round of applause for the innerwear- its elongated flap perfectly beautifies the outfit. Tobe’s choice of pants is audacious, but he perfectly slayed his boot-cut flared pants.
