Business users need to stop using the VPN option that Microsoft Defender provides. The notification released by Windows Latest indicates Microsoft will retire its built-in VPN service on February 28. Microsoft Defender provided the VPN service to all users subscribing to Microsoft 365 but it functioned by directing internet data through Microsoft servers within the monthly 50GB data limit.

Microsoft published the following statement on its support page which stated “Our main priority is to keep you and your family protected when using online resources.” The company performs consistent evaluations to measure both how users use our features and their operational success. We are taking down the privacy protection feature because we plan to use these resources to develop new features which will serve our customers better. Users with Android devices can spot the Microsoft Defender VPN profile in their settings following its expiration date before they need to manually remove it if they wish to delete it. Microsoft makes clear that Windows iOS and macOS users will not need to take any action according to their notes.
