Modupe Atanda, FUOYE missing student, is dead

The Management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has announced the death of its student, Modupe Deborah Atanda who went missing on September 6, 2023.

In a recent press release issued by the University’s Registrar, Mufutau Ibrahim, it has been confirmed that the missing student, whose disappearance was earlier reported today by the University’s Management, has passed away.

In the press release, the University Management extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the entire University community, with a special emphasis on ‘our beloved students’.

The University says it remains committed to conducting a thorough investigation into this incident, in collaboration with national security agencies.

It affirms that the primary objective is to uncover the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event and bring those responsible to justice.

In light of these developments, the University requests all students and concerned parties to maintain calm and cooperation during this trying time.

“We, therefore, appeal to students and all other stakeholders to remain calm.” 

The University reiterated that it will continue to keep the public updated as the investigation progresses.
