Nigeria football legend and Kano Pillars forward Ahmed Musa is excited about his appointment as Sports Ambassador in his home state, Kano.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Musa acknowledged his appointment, thanking the Kano State government for his latest feat.
The post also comes with a letter of appointment signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Kano, Abdullahi Bafa Bichi.

Notifying Musa of his appointment, Bichi, via the letter, stated that the Governor of the state Gov. Abba K. Yusuf approved the player’s appointment.
The letter also indicated that Musa’s appointment was due to his “professional competence, track record of excellent performances, vast experience, dedication to development of sporting activities, and provision of humanitarian services in the state.”
On his part, Ahmed Musa stated he is “deeply honoured to be appointed” as Sports Ambassador for the state.
Musa stated his excitement to “work towards empowering the youth and promoting sports development across the state.”
The former CSKA Moscow, Leicester City, and Al Nassr forward scored four goals across two World Cup tournaments (2014 and 2018) for Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
He was also part of the national team squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013.
