Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has denied recognition to the Young Progressives Party (YPP).
The governor, in a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, described the claim circulating on social media as false and misleading.
He labelled the claim as a blatant lie and a shameless concoction orchestrated by what he described as desperate mischief makers.
“Let it be stated without ambiguity: this claim is a blatant lie, a shameless concoction peddled by desperate mischief makers whose only intent is to stoke disaffection, sow confusion, and mislead the peace-loving citizens of Plateau State,” Mutfwang said.
He noted that such a baseless and poorly scripted fabrication ordinarily would not warrant a response, but said he felt compelled to clarify the matter to prevent the public from being misled.
