NGF expresses sadness over Jigawa tanker explosion

The Nigeria Governorsā€™ Forum (NGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic petrol tanker explosion that occurred on Tuesday in Majia town, Jigawa State.

In a statement issued by its Chairman and Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the NGF mourned the loss of 105 lives in the devastating incident.

The Forum extended heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Jigawa State, particularly to the families who lost loved ones and those injured in the fire.

The NGF also highlighted concerns about the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, urging citizens to refrain from approaching petrol spills due to their high volatility and potential for grave danger.

ā€œThis unfortunate incident again calls attention to a need for improved safety protocols in the handling of combustible materials like petrol, including during unforeseen circumstances such as accidents.

“Our hearts are with His Excellency Governor Umar Namadi, the people of the state, and families involved in the incident. We ask Almighty Allaah to grant them solace at this trying time and admit the deceased to al-Jannah Firdaus.ā€
