Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has impressively secured 14th place in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings during an award ceremony held in Paris, France.
Lookman’s superlative performances for both Atalanta and Nigeria during the 2023/24 season earned him this precious recognition.
He finished ahead of the likes of fantastic players like Nico Williams, Federico Valverde, Bukayo Saka, and Cole Palmer.

The 27-year-old scored 17 goals and assisted 10 goals in all competitions. The highlight of his brilliant season was his performance in the UEFA Europa League final. He remarkably netted a hat-trick as Atalanta flogged Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 to lift the European trophy – their first-ever.
For Nigeria, Lookman was key as the Super Eagles reached the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), finishing second behind Cote D’Ivoire. He scored three goals in the tournament and was named in the tournament’s best XI.
During the current season, Lookman has continued to deliver great performances. He has scored five goals and provided five others for Atalanta. His latest outing for the Italian club saw him grab a brace in a 6-1 demolition of Hellas Verona last Saturday.
