Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan fails in bid to defend world title

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has failed in her quest to defend her 100mh world title in Budapest on Thursday night, NRTC reports.

Amusan lost her title to Jamaica’s Danielle Williams who previously won in Beijing in 2015.

26-year-old Amusan finished in 6th position with a time of 12.62 seconds. Williams was first after clocking 12.43 seconds with Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico (12.44sec) finishing second.

America’s Kendra Harrison went home with the bronze medal (12.46sec). Devynne Charlton (12.52sec) and Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent (12.61sec) finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Meanwhile, Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji ended the race seventh as 2019 winner Nia Ali finished in the last position.
