NITDA launches second IgniteHer Bootcamp

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched the second IgniteHer Bootcamp to equip women entrepreneurs with digital skills under Nigeria’s gender inclusion and innovation development strategy.

NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, represented by Dr Ahmed Tambuwal, said the bootcamp will help women build resilience, lead enterprises, and adopt technology for sustainable growth.

More than 12,000 women applied across Nigeria. Selected participants will receive training in digital literacy, innovation management, business development, and investor readiness.

The programme supports the National Gender Digital Inclusion Strategy (NGDIS), which targets 12.7 million women by 2027. NITDA projects that closing the gender digital gap could add $13 billion to Nigeria’s GDP.

Japan’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Matsunaga Kazuyoshi, affirmed Japan’s support through grant aid projects totalling $30.9 million for Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.
