Malam Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPC) says the corporation has nothing to hide and will comply with the request of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts.
The disclosure by the NNPC CEO came in the wake of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accountsā request to the company seeking the appearance of Heads of NNPC subsidiaries before the committee.
Kyari, in a statement on Tuesday, March 29, in Abuja said that it would comply with the committeeās requirement, and continue to be accountable and transparent.
āWe have nothing to hide, Mr Chairman. We recognise that this company belongs to over 200 million Nigerians as its shareholders, thus we have been accountable and transparent and we will continue to remain so.
āNo national oil company in the world is as transparent as we are. We shall comply with the House Committeeās requirement,ā Mallam Kyari stated.
The committee had on March 16, through a letter signed by its Chairman, Oluwole Oke (PDP: Osun), summoned the 17 subsidiaries of NNPC to respond to audit queries by the Auditor-General for the Federation over the operations of their finances between 2014 and 2019.

Meanwhile, Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to support his presidential ambition because he is the best man to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike stated this on Sunday, March 27, in Makurdi when he visited Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue.
Wike said that he was making his intention to contest the presidency known for the first time in Benue.
āTo remove APC from power, I am the person who can tell them `enough is enough`.
āWe must take this power and I am ready to take it for PDP and I know that God is with us that is why APC keeps failing every day.ā
āI call on stakeholders to give me their mandate and not to sell their votes because I have the capacity to face this APC government,ā Wike said.
