The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has fixed Saturday, June 27, 2026, for the nationwide celebration of Olympic Day, urging Nigerians to join simple exercises that promote fitness, inclusivity, and Olympic values.
According to the committee, the event will run under the global framework of Olympic Solidarity in partnership with the Sport‑For‑All Commission. It is designed to encourage citizens of all ages to stay active while fostering unity.
NOC President Habu Gumel called on Nigerians to participate, stressing that “simple activities such as jogging and walking can help burn calories, strengthen muscles, and reduce stress.”
He added that this year’s edition will also focus on bridging generational gaps by encouraging interaction between young and older citizens.
