NotebookLM will introduce its AI-generated podcast application through an app release on May 20, 2025. Users can pre-register through the Android and iOS platforms at present.
The mobile version of NotebookLM retains all crucial web platform capabilities including source file upload, AI-driven answers through Gemini search and study guides as well as audio generation.
The development of NotebookLM began with Project Tailwind during I/O 2023 before transitioning to become a genuine product while evolving from its initial research project stage.
NotebookLM entered the market in December 2023, while Audio Overviews became available in September 2024. Starting in April 2025, NotebookLM provided service in over 50 languages. Now that Google has released an application, it confirms the permanent nature of the NotebookLM service.
