- 1815- Birth of a Heroine

On November 12, 1815, Elizabeth Cady Stanton was born in Johnstown, New York, U.S. She was known as an American leader in the women’s rights movement. She had officiated the first demand for women’s suffrage in the United States, leading the way for women to vote in elections.
- 1910- Stunt of the century

On November 12, 1910, Frederick Rodman Law performed an epic stunt move when he jumped into the Hudson River from a burning balloon. This is widely considered to be the first movie stunt of its kind. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information on the movie title. However, it was a silent film.
- 1918- Austria Becomes a Republic

Over a century ago today, the Republic of German-Austria was proclaimed. This follows the collapse of the Habsburg Monarchy and the end of World War I. This was to establish a democratic system headed by a state chancellor and the Federal President.

- 1990- Formal proposal of the World Wide Web

On November 12, 1990, the World Wide Web was officially presented as a management proposal. Tim Berners-Lee, the originator of the project and a British scientist at CERN, wrote the first proposal in March 1989. But with the help of Belgian systems engineer, Robert Cailliau, the proposal was refined. It contained the principal concepts and terms behind the web. This became the foundation for the World Wide Web project.
- 2016- Chan’s first Oscar
The multitalented action star Jackie Chan received his first Honorary award at the 8th Annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles, California, U.S., on November 12, 2016. After more than 200 films and 56 years in the industry despite bone injuries, the martial arts star was awarded an Oscar for his decades of work in film. He was introduced on stage by Chris Tucker, Michelle Yeoh, and Tom Hanks.
