At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United bounced back from recent setbacks to claim a narrow but crucial 1-0 victory over El Kanemi Warriors.
Monday Gideon netted the winner in the 32nd minute, and despite relentless late pressure from the visitors, the Peace Boys held firm to secure all three points.
The victory marked a timely response for Plateau United, who had been searching for consistency since the start of the campaign.

Bendel Insurance frustrated by Bayelsa United
Meanwhile, in Benin City, Bendel Insurance were left frustrated as Bayelsa United battled to a 1-1 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Insurance appeared on course for a win when Kayode Oke calmly slotted home a penalty on the stroke of halftime.
However, Bayelsa United, who have endured a difficult run of form in recent weeks, showed impressive resolve. Just five minutes into the second half, Jawad Mustapha restored parity with a well-taken finish that stunned the home crowd.
Although Insurance pushed forward in search of a winner, Bayelsa’s compact defending and discipline ensured the Prosperity Boys left Benin with a valuable point. The result served as a confidence boost for the visitors while leaving Insurance to rue missed opportunities.
With more fixtures scheduled for Sunday, Matchday 6 continues to offer the best of actions from Nigeria’s top-flight.
