Leading Stories: FG endorses #70,000 as minimum wage
After so much back and forth between the Federal Government and the Nigerian Labour Congress, #70,000 was agreed upon as the minimum wage. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, confirmed the approval on Thursday. The president also added that national minimum wage law will be reviewed every three years.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the new minimum wage during a meeting with leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) at the presidential villa in Abuja.The new minimum wage will not benefit civil workers but also domestic staff.

E go better has been the mantra of the federal government for so long now. During a state House release, the president assured Nigerians that the economy is on a gradual and steady change. According to him, the problem wrong with the economy since and was handed over to him by his predecessors.
āI have accepted the assets and the liabilities of my predecessor. How I will take Nigeria forward should be my concern, and that is my concern.”
In his speech at the presidential villa with cultural rulers from different regions, the President listed out schemes meant to make lives better for Nigerians, out of which was the student loan.

As response to the hardship in Nigeria, Nigerians in coalition groups plan to protest in designated areas on August 1.There are so many agendas driving the protest most especially the claim of “bad governance”.

Security agencies in Nigeria have stated out to the public about the conditions necessary to make the protest a peaceful one. The protest is set to hold for ten days starting from August 1 to August 10 to air the demands of the people. Different groups from regions in the country have decided to work together to make the protest a success. They are very adamant in making the protest work.
Entertainment: Charlie Boy claims to divorce his wife of 47 years if Kamala Harris does not win the U.S Presidential Election
Charlie Boy few days ago made an audacious statement few days ago regarding the upcoming US Presidential Election. Joe Biden endorsed his deputy as the nominee for the Democratic Party in regards of the party’s presidential candidate. This comes after Joe Biden stepped down from as the nominee.
In response, Charlie Boy posted a pidgin reaction on his X page, stating, “If my crush, Kamala Harris, NJ win the USA presidential election, I swear, I go divorce my 47-year-old wife.”
Charlie Boy is supportive of black folks in power and wants a continuation of this after Barack Obama’s tenure as U.S president.
