He was buried in his hometown of Ukehe in the Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Friends expressed deep sadness and grief, offering their condolences to the bereaved family and expressing their sorrow and support.

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that Jnr Pope and four others died on April 10 while filming “Other Side of Life,” produced by Adanma Luke. Their boat capsized while on their way to the film location in Anambra.

Sports: EPL shutdown on Sunday

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that the Premier League title race has reached a thrilling conclusion between Arsenal and Manchester City, leaving fans on an emotional rollercoaster.

Gooners, after years of longing, finally have a genuine shot at the title. The Emirates Stadium is expected to be electrifying on Sunday, filled with nervous anticipation and a desperate desire to end their long trophy drought.

NRTC WEEKLY found that despite leading, some fans are anxious about City’s experience and knack for last-minute victories, with memories of past title collapses resurfacing.

Many fans are clinging to hope, placing their trust in their young squad and Mikel Arteta’s leadership. Social media is buzzing with messages of support and optimism.

City fans, knowing their team thrives under pressure, will be urging their players to fight for every point and showcase their title-winning pedigree.

With several league titles in recent years, City fans may feel a calm confidence, trusting their team to dig deep and secure the win. However, there could also be frustration over recent dropped points and what might have been.

NRTC WEEKLY noted that this dramatic title race is a dream for neutral fans, providing an unpredictable and exciting climax to the Premier League season.

Fans of other clubs, such as Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United, might have a soft spot for either Arsenal or City, with their allegiances on full display on Sunday.

While everyone has an opinion, predicting the winner is tough. Some pundits might favor City’s experience, while others believe Arsenal’s youthful hunger could be the deciding factor.

Business: Naira depreciates again

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that Nigerians are increasingly frustrated and concerned due to the continued depreciation of the Naira.

This decline is making imported goods, such as clothing, electronics, and fuel, more costly. Additionally, it is diminishing their purchasing power, causing the prices of everyday items like food to rise.

As a result, people may need to reduce their spending, and businesses might face difficulties. There is also a fear that prices will remain high even if the Naira strengthens again.

Politics: Wike and Fubara

The ongoing conflict between Governor Siminalayi Fubara of River State and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, shows no signs of resolution despite various efforts.

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that the crisis has escalated with a new wave of resignations from Fubara’s administration. Five more commissioners, loyal to Wike, have stepped down.

The resigning officials include Chinedu Mmom from the Ministry of Education, Gift Worlu from the Ministry of Housing, and Jacobson Nbina from the Ministry of Transport.

Inime Aguma, the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, resigned, citing a lack of opportunities for professional development. Austin Ben-Chioma, the Commissioner for Environment, stepped down due to the political turmoil in Rivers State and personal reasons.

Mmom and Worlu attributed their departures to a toxic working environment, while Nbina pointed to the unresolved political crisis in the state.

These five commissioners had previously resigned last December amid the political turmoil but were reinstated after President Bola Tinubu’s intervention.

Education: ASUU treating strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a potential cessation of services within two weeks if the administration of President Bola Tinubu does not release the withheld salaries of public university lecturers.

Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, the national president of ASUU, made this statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s breakfast show, ‘Sunrise Daily.’

NRTC WEEKLY discovered that this development has caused a fresh wave of discontent across Nigeria. Students, still reeling from previous disruptions, expressed frustration as their hopes of graduating and entering the workforce were once again delayed, forcing them to seek temporary jobs or costly private tutoring.

Parents, already burdened by rising expenses, now faced additional anxiety over their children’s potential academic setbacks and the financial strain of a prolonged school year.

Lecturers, while advocating for better wages and working conditions, found some public sympathy but were also under significant stress.

NRTC WEEKLY found that the public, exhausted by the ongoing conflict, desired a resolution that would prioritize education but felt trapped between the lecturers’ demands and the perceived inaction of the government.

Stay tuned for the next episode of NRTC WEEKLY as we delve into the latest happenings in Nigeria.
