In contrast, the 36 State Governors have unanimously opposed the bill, voicing concerns over its potential impact on their revenue streams, particularly from Value-Added Tax (VAT). They fear these reforms could create fiscal imbalances and hinder their ability to deliver essential services. With public concern mounting, many Nigerians are eager to see if the bill will be revised or cancelled.
The government has expressed its commitment to engaging with stakeholders and addressing these concerns, as the National Assembly deliberates on the bill with further amendments anticipated.
Metro: Pepper soup poisoning incident

The Edo State Police Command confirmed the arrest of the teenager, identified as Aisha Suleiman, while the deceased ex-boyfriend has been named Emmanuel Elogie.
Sports: Manchester United’s new coach
