NRTC WEEKLY gathered that a coup d’état refers to the sudden overthrow of a government, typically by a faction of the military, leading to a change in leadership and, at times, the suspension of democratic processes.

Looking at the pain and varied reactions of people in African countries, coup d’états justify actions by citing corruption, inefficiency, or political instability as reasons for the takeover, which can be used to mask personal ambitions for power.
In a variety of people’s reactions to coup d’états in African countries, some welcome it if they perceive the ousted government as corrupt, repressive, or failing to address critical issues, hoping that the new leadership will bring positive change.
NRTC WEEKLY gathered that human differences have a role to play as many oppose the coup, especially if they support the ousted government or fear that the new regime will be equally oppressive or illegitimate.
Civil society organizations, including human rights groups, often condemn coups and call for a return to democratic processes. Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) since the coup in these countries had been advocating for the rule of law and the protection of citizens’ rights.

Metro: The designer of the Nigerian flag dies
Tears flowed freely as the designer of Nigeria’s flag, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi passed away at eighty-seven [87]. He was declared dead at his family home in Ibadan, after a brief illness.
NRTC WEEKLY gathered that Nigerians took to their social media platforms to mourn the great man, wishing the family strength to bear the loss.
In the same vein, the Federal Government of Nigeria has mourned his death and eulogized him for his great work in designing the Nigerian national flag.
Netizens argued that the late Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi should be given a befitting burial by the Federal Government.
