He said Governor Okpebholo emphasised that the move aligns with his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

“The Governor is determined to work closely with the chairmen for the progress of Edo State. Transparency is at the core of this administration, and this directive will enable the Assets Verification Committee to function effectively,” said Deputy Governor Idahosa.

Idahosa added that the governor also assured the chairmen that the administration is committed to fostering a collaborative relationship.

Speaking on behalf of the local government chairmen, Newman Ugiagbe, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Edo State Chapter, and Orhionmwon Local Government Chairman, pledged the group’s loyalty to the Governor.

“We are here to congratulate the Governor and Deputy Governor on their mandate and to affirm our readiness to support their policies. We will ensure that the administration’s vision reaches the grassroots, delivering the dividends of democracy to our people,” Ugiagbe stated.

The meeting underscored the administration’s focus on strengthening governance at all levels to enhance the delivery of public services across Edo State.
