Ola Aina returns to Nottingham Forest training ahead of crucial December comeback

Super Eagles player Ola Aina is back in full training at Nottingham Forest as he steps up recovery from a long injury spell.

The defender had been sidelined since suffering a hamstring problem while representing Nigeria in September. He was taken off early during the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw against South Africa.

Following the setback, Aina underwent surgery to correct the issue and began a steady rehabilitation programme. His return to the training pitch only indicates strong progress ahead of a possible December comeback.

Meanwhile, head coach Sean Dyche will welcome the added depth as his side battles relegation pressure. Aina’s experience and versatility have been sorely missed in recent weeks. He is expected to regain full fitness next month if recovery continues smoothly.

Beyond his club duties, Aina is also pushing to return in time for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria will begin their campaign in Morocco on 21 December, and Aina hopes to be part of the squad. His injury had already ruled him out of the Super Eagles’ last four fixtures.

Nevertheless, his rapid improvement has encouraged both national and club medical teams. He remains determined to reclaim his place for both Forest and Nigeria.
