Engr. Olusesan Adebiyi has assumed a new position as the Permanent Secretary at the State House in Abuja.
He succeeded Tijjani Umar, who served from April 5, 2020 until his retirement on August 10, 2023. He officially assumed his responsibilities on Monday and expressed his strong dedication to ensuring the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
During a transition event held at the State House Administrative block, Adebiyi, who previously served as the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health, conveyed his appreciation to his predecessor, Tijjani Umar.

“āI sincerely pledge my commitment to my fatherland. I will put forth my best effort for the success of the administration,” Adebiyi emphasized. He further pledged his loyalty, diligence, integrity, and clear purpose in meticulously executing every assigned task.
Until his appointment as the new state house permanent secretary, Engineer Adebiyi also served in different capacities in the Ecological Fund Office, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, as well as Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing. Before his appointment in July 2021 as Permanent Secretary, he was the Coordinating Director Highways Construction and Rehabilitation, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing.
He was subsequently deployed to the Ministry of Women Affairs until June 9, 2022 when he was redeployed to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. He was subsequently posted to the Federal Ministry of Health in May 2023 from where he has been deployed to the State House.
