Ondo State Governor-elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assured residents of his unwavering commitment to an inclusive and participatory government that prioritizes the welfare and development of every citizen.
Speaking after his victory in the stateās governorship election on Sunday, Aiyedatiwa described his win as a triumph for democracy, unity, and progress.
He pledged to foster economic growth and ensure Ondo State remains a beacon of hope and prosperity for generations to come.
“This is not just my victory; it is a victory for all the people of Ondo State,” he stated.
“I am deeply honoured by the overwhelming support and trust you have placed in me to continue leading our great state. This mandate reinforces my resolve to work tirelessly for the betterment of every citizen.”
Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free, fair, and credible election.
He also acknowledged the professionalism of security agencies in maintaining peace throughout the process.
“I must commend INEC for their commitment to upholding democracy and the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful electoral process,” he said.
Aiyedatiwa, who is the incumbent governor, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, APC National Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and the National Campaign Council, led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for their leadership and support.

“I deeply appreciate President Tinubu for providing exemplary leadership and ensuring a level playing ground. To the APC National Campaign Council, my family, friends, and the people of Ondo, your love, commitment, and hard work made this victory possible,ā Aiyedatiwa added.
Accompanied by his deputy and running mate, Olayide Adelami, Aiyedatiwa extended a hand of fellowship to opposition parties, urging them to join efforts in building a better Ondo State. He also dedicated his victory to God and the memory of former Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The APC National Chairman, Umar Ganduje, expressed confidence in the party’s growing influence in the South-West, vowing to reclaim Osun and Oyo States currently governed by the PDP.
Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, praised the people of Ondo State for their peaceful conduct, describing the election as a model for other states.
The announcement of the results in Akure attracted several APC governors, including Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq (Kwara), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Babagana Umara Zulum (Borno), Rev Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Bassey Otu (Cross River), and Hope Uzodinma (Imo).
With this victory, Aiyedatiwa has called on all Ondo residents to unite for the common good, emphasizing that the success of his administration will be driven by collective effort and shared purpose.
