Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Campaign Council, appointing Abiola Makinde, a member of the House of Representatives for Ondo East/Ondo West federal constituency, as the Director General of the campaign.
In a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, Aiyedatiwa called for unity and renewed dedication from APC members as they prepare for the upcoming gubernatorial election.
During the third APC Stakeholders’ Meeting at The Dome, Akure, on Thursday, the governor emphasised the partyās collective strength, urging members to intensify grassroots mobilization efforts.
He acknowledged the impressive turnout, expressing his gratitude and stating that the enthusiastic participation was a reflection of the members’ unwavering commitment to the APCās success.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also reiterated his pledge to foster inclusiveness within his administration, reminding attendees of his previous promises made during past stakeholder engagements.

Governor Aiyedatiwa underscored that the upcoming election is not about him alone but about the entire party. He highlighted that securing victory would depend on the unified efforts and strength of every party member.
āWe cannot afford to be complacent; this is the time to redouble our efforts and ensure we deliver victory for the party,ā Governor Aiyedatiwa said.
He urged party members to return to their respective units, wards, and local government areas, rallying voters, especially those who may feel marginalized.
Governor Aiyedatiwa further announced that the official flag-off of the APC gubernatorial campaign will be held on Saturday at the Ondo City Hall, located in the Central Senatorial District. In his acceptance speech, Makinde pledged his unwavering commitment to securing victory for the APC in the upcoming election.
āI promise that Ondo State will remain in the hands of APC,ā he said confidently, pledging to lead a successful campaign that would consolidate the partyās hold on the state.
Earlier, the State APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, echoed the governorās call for unity, emphasizing that the APC remains a united family despite any differences in opinion.
He urged members to place the partyās collective success above personal ambitions. āOndo is a progressive state, and our strength lies in our unityā, Adetimehin affirmed, rallying everyone to stay focused on the party’s vision.
In his vote of thanks, Deji Oyedele, a prominent APC leader from the South Senatorial District, expressed deep gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for attending the meeting despite his demanding schedule.
