Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to becoming a premier investment destination.
He highlighted the factors that make the Sunshine State an attractive location for investors, including its relative peace, abundant natural resources, and skilled workforce.
During the official presentation of the license for the Global Entrepreneurship Festival on Thursday in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa underscored the event’s potential to drive substantial growth and development in the state.
The Global Entrepreneurship Festival, scheduled to take place in Akure this November, will attract 215 investors from around the globe.
The governor expressed confidence in the state’s ability to host a successful festival, viewing it as a tremendous opportunity for Ondo State’s advancement.
Sunny Smart Francis, Special Adviser to the Governor on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, praised the governor for supporting the festival’s selection for Ondo State.

Dan Walkovitz, Chairman of the Entrepreneurship Village Board and Global Investor, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, commending Ondo State for its exceptional hospitality and abundant resources.
He lauded the state’s infrastructural progress, particularly at the Entrepreneurship Village, and described Ondo as a key player in Nigeria’s entrepreneurial growth.
Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, Nigerian Chairman of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival, noted that the festival marks the beginning of a promising new chapter for the state and its residents, stressing that the achievements of tomorrow depend on today’s efforts.
Mr Anthony Jones, GEF Partner, Investor, and representative of world-renowned boxing promoter Mr Don King, recalled the success of the “Rumble in the Jungle” boxing event in 1974 and expressed his eagerness to showcase Ondo State to the global audience in celebration of the event’s 50th anniversary.
Hon. Shina Peller, GEF Board Member and former House of Representatives member, congratulated Ondo State on hosting the festival.
He emphasised the event’s potential positive impacts and called for collective efforts to tackle hunger and other socio-economic challenges, praising the governor for his leadership and dedication.
The event concluded with the unveiling of the festival’s theme song and the official presentation of the festival’s license to Governor Aiyedatiwa.
