Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has received the Globe Soccer award for the ‘Emerging Player of Year.’
The excited striker also announced his reception of the award on social media. The Globe Soccer awards honoured Osimhen with the award following his “outstanding performance during 2022.”
Osimhen was unable to attend the 2022 Globe Soccer Awards gala in Dubai last November, so “Globe Soccer and Power Horse decided to hold an awarding ceremony in Naples, Victor’s current hometown.”
The Nigerian striker became the first Serie A player to reach double figures this season. He has scored 10 league goals in 13 appearances for Napoli this term.

Osimhen has been a vital member of Napoli team. His strength, pace and finishing skills are unmatched among strikers in the Italian top-flight. His lanky body has been well used to bully defenders to submission.
With 34 goals in 64 games, the former Lille man is the most prolific Nigerian ever in the Serie A. He now needs 13 goals to beat George Weah’s record of being the African with highest number of goals in Italy.
