Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced that the Adire Osun Festival will become an annual event, beginning in 2025.
The governor made the announcement while being inaugurated as the Chief Creative Officer for Osun State during a live media session at the recently held Adire Osun Festival and logo unveiling.
Governor Adelekeās declaration came after Tunde Laface, a renowned figure in Nigeria’s Creative Industry and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Creative Economy, Events, and Entertainment, requested that the state House of Assembly legislate the festival as an annual event.
Laface proposed that the Assembly, led by Speaker Adewale Egbedun, enact a law to establish the Adire Osun Festival as an annual event, which he argued would fully unlock the festival’s potential benefits.
