Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to developing essential infrastructure necessary for the economic well-being of the populace.
The governor made this assertion while commissioning the Oshodi electrification project in Ado-Ekiti during the week.
Speaking at the ceremony through his representative, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, Oyebanji stressed that providing critical infrastructure is a top priority.
He acknowledged the profound importance of electricity for achieving significant development, noting that it powers businesses, supports education, improves healthcare, and elevates the overall quality of life in communities.

The governor projected that the newly completed Oshodi electrification project would be a “game changer” for the residents, promising to enhance their economic activities and create better opportunities for expansion.
He expressed gratitude to the residents of Oshodi for their patience, cooperation, and support during the project’s implementation, and also commended the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities and other stakeholders for their contributions.
“This event is yet another testimony to the commitment of our administration to provide the critical infrastructure that enhances the welfare and economic well-being of our people,” the governor stated.
He added that artisans, traders, and entrepreneurs would now have improved opportunities, and children could study in a more conducive environment.

Earlier, the Special Advisor to the governor on Power Infrastructure, Philip Atere, praised the project as a massive investment that reflects Oyebanji’s passion.
Atere emphasised the need to motivate rural dwellers with social amenities to discourage migration to urban centres.
He lauded the governor’s aggressive investment in the power sector, which has reportedly extended electricity to communities across virtually all local government areas that had been without power for up to fifteen years.
In their goodwill messages, the Chairmen of Ado North Local Council Development Area, Tokunbo Gbadamosi, and Ado Central, Toyin Ojo, urged residents to take ownership of the electricity infrastructure, including transformers and consumables.
They stressed that preventing theft and vandalism is crucial to ensuring the durability of the project, maintaining a reliable power supply, and enabling sustainable livelihoods through ongoing economic activities.
