Oyebanji sympathises with victims of rainstorm

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has extended his sympathies to residents affected by the rainstorm that wreaked havoc across parts of the state on Saturday.

The News Round The Clock (NRTC) gathered that the storm caused extensive damage to numerous private and public buildings, as well as critical facilities.

Fortunately, no lives were lost.

Reacting in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to immediately commence an assessment of the affected properties, to provide for the victims.

He reassured the populace and urged citizens to remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear.He emphasised that the government would stand by them during this challenging period.

The governor noted that the government would take an inventory of all damaged properties and facilities to provide an appropriate and timely response.

“We are in this together,” Oyebanji assured the residents.

“The Biodun Oyebanji administration is committed to the welfare and wellbeing of the people of the state and will not leave any stone unturned in providing timely succour to the victims of the rainstorm”, the statement added.
