Passport Reforms: NIS redeploys 15 Passport Control Officers


The Acting Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration, NIS, Caroline Adepoju, has authorized the immediate redeployment of more than twelve Passport Control Officers.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Service’ Public Relations Unit, ACI Kenneth Kure, noting that the move was in a bid to deepen ongoing Passport reform.

According to the statement, the deployment is part of NIS management’s drive to upgrade passport administration at home and in foreign Missions.

Kure said the Service remains committed to transforming Passport offices into customer-centric service centres. 

According to Kure, the affected Passport offices include Alausa and Festac both in Lagos, as well as the ones in Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau, Enugu, Abia, Kano, Taraba and Ondo, among others.

Kure added that Acting CGI Adepoju directed all officers affected by the redeployment to bring their wealth of experience to bear on their new offices, and contribute to the improvement of service delivery.
