The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has renamed the RCCG Apapa Family to RCCG The Favoured Family.
The announcement came during Pastor Adeboye’s second visit to Trinity Towers, the home of the RCCG City of David parish, which serves as the headquarters of the Apapa Family.
He was accompanied by his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye, as they received divine instruction to initiate the name change.

Preaching from 2 Kings 2:19-24, Pastor Adeboye explained the spiritual significance of the renaming, likening it to the biblical account where the prophet Elisha purified the waters of Jericho with salt in a new cruse.
According to him, the introduction of salt symbolizes a fresh outpouring of grace, the restoration of spiritual fervour, the removal of bitterness, protection from negative forces, and a catalyst for rapid progress.
The new cruse, he added, represents a fresh start, a renewal of lost glory, and a rekindling of spiritual passion.
Pastor Adeboye emphasised that anyone who had grown spiritually lukewarm would experience a revival and burn brightly once again.
