Reality TV star and actor Pere Egbi has reacted to the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, expressing sorrow over his passing and condemning those who are rejoicing over the news.
Taking to his official X handle, Pere acknowledged that while Buhari had his shortcomings like every other human, he believed the former leader did what he could during his time in office.
Pere wrote, “This is a sad day for Nigeria and Nigerians,” as he extended his sympathies to Buhari’s family. Reflecting on the finality of death, he remarked that once a person passes, “you are wiped clean off the earth. Nothing else will matter to those you left behind. Whether love or hate or whatever. You’re gone, you’re gone.”
He strongly criticised those who celebrated the former president’s death, questioning the value such reactions bring.
“What exactly is your gain? Nothing!” he wrote, stating that death renders all human judgment meaningless, leaving the deceased to face only divine accountability.

He called on the president to reflect on the deep pain and suffering many Nigerians have endured over the years, urging him to lead with compassion.
He noted that genuine healing for the country will not come through perpetuating past injustices, but through intentional efforts to alleviate the people’s suffering and rebuild trust.
