Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers In Jigawa

Two suspected kidnappers have been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Jigawa state.

A 45-year-old man, identified as one Muhammad Sama’ila, was also rescued at Nisan Marke village. The village is situated at Ringim Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued to reporters, spokesman of the Jigawa state police command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the capture of Sama’ila.

DSP Shiisu stated that the arrest of the offender was made possible as a result of an intelligence report.

The statement read in part: “.. a 45-year-old man Muhammad Sama’ila of Madari village, Warawa LGA, Kano State was seen motion less with machete cuts all over his body.”

The police spokesman said upon receiving the intelligence report, a team of mobile policemen quickly swung into action. He said the police officers went to the location of the crime and carried the victim to the hospital.

He added that the the rescued victim was the one who revealed his kidnap experience. The victim said he was kidnapped in Madari Village in Warawa Local Government Area of Kano State. He was however moved to a totally different state, precisely Nisan Marke herdsmen settlement in Ringim LGA.

Shiisu explained that the police, in collaboration with local vigilante, helped in raiding the suspected kidnapper’s hideout. The refuge was at the Nissan Marke herdsmen settlement where the combined security outfits apprehended two kidnap suspects.

The names of the suspects were Hassan a Jimau and Abdurrazaq Musa.

He said the suspects had confessed to abducting the victim. However, eight other gang members are now at large.

The spokesman further stated that the case is currently undergoing investigation. He also said all hands are on deck to ensure that the other accomplices are caught and brought to book.

Also, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida urged the general public to always give the Police credible and reliable information at the right time.
