A trader operating in the area where the suspects were arrested, who requested anonymity, had earlier informed this correspondent about the development.
“They perpetrated the crime elsewhere, I believe, but were traced to the area where they live,” the trader said.
The police noted that investigations were still ongoing to establish the origin of the human skull and the level of involvement of each suspect in the alleged offence.
The Command also recalled that in August 2025, it began prosecuting two suspects, Kadir Owolabi and Jamiu Yisa, who were arrested in the Ijebu axis of the state with three human skulls.
Owolabi was reportedly intercepted while riding a motorcycle along the Ijebu Ode–Ibadan Expressway at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu, while subsequent investigations led to the arrest of 53-year-old Yisa behind the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.
