The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP) have partnered to host a one-day workshop for top police officers.
Held at the Police Resource Centre in Abuja, the event focused on “Managing Fast-Paced Security Challenges in a Protracted Conflict Environment.”
The workshop, which took place on Monday, was attended by the Force Management Team, including the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, Assistant Inspectors-General, Commissioners of Police, and other senior officers.

They were joined by leaders from SPSP, including founder Professor Isaac Olawale Albert and president Nathaniel Awuapiala.
The training was designed to enhance the senior officers’ skills in conflict management and peacebuilding.
Topics covered included conflict analysis, response strategies, conflict-sensitive decision-making, and early warning systems.
In his address, Egbetokun praised the SPSP for the collaboration and urged participants to apply the knowledge gained to their daily duties.
“I charge participants to translate insights gained into transformed mindsets, recalibrated strategies, and policies that reflect in daily policing,” he stated.
